Inna Kulagina, Painting
August 02, 2010 - September 10, 2010
Opening Reception: Friday, August 6, 5-7 p.m.
Painter Inna Kulagina's current series of works at the Fred Simon Gallery reflect on the issues within dysfunctional family relationships and the resulting effects on children. This exhibition is the second of two exploring this theme. The first, entitled "Seeing for the first time since childhood", is now in progress at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City.
Both exhibitions depict the same theme as influenced through different countries in which Kulagina has visited or lived over time. Countries include Uzbekistan, USA, Honduras, as well as the influences from Central Asian cultures.
The artist will speak about her artwork at her opening reception on Friday, August 6th. The reception lasts from 5-7 p.m, and the lecture will begin at six o'clock. The public is welcome to attend.
