(RFQ) University of NE-Lincoln Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture/Exterior Mural Project
The Univeristy of NE-Lincoln and Nebraska Arts Council announce a Nebraska 1% for Art project for the new Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture building to be located in Curtis, NE. The artwork site for the project is located on the exterior wall(s) of the building, near the main entrance. (RFP) Chadron State College Sparks Hall/Administration Building Project
Chadron State College has announced a Request for Proposals for a Nebraska 1% for Art project on their campus. The artwork site for the project is located in the courtyard area between the Administration building and Sparks Hall, on campus. For a complete description of the project and to complete an application, please download the prospectus from their website, below.

CURRENT PROJECTS IN PROGRESS:

(RFQ) Nebraska State Historical Society- Headquarters Project
The Nebraska State Historical Society Headquarters project selection committee has selected the following artists for further consideration: Garin Baker (New Windsor, NY); Adam Brooks (Chicago, IL); Clint Hansen (Urbandale, IA); and Stephen Cornelius Roberts (Omaha, NE). The artwork site for the project is located in the rotunda entrance of the headquarters.

BUDGET: $44,000

Wayne State College - Seymour Plaza Project
The WSC Seymour Heritage Plaza Project announces the commissioned artist for the project will be Steve Elliott (Wayne, NE). The artwork site includes the public hardsurface and greenspace adjacent to the library and student center on campus.

BUDGET: $50,000

Keim Hall, University of Nebraska - Lincoln Project
The Selection Committee quarterfinalist review is complete. Three artists have been to present proposals for a commission: JEFRE (Orlando, FL); Andy Dufford (Denver, CO) and Joy Taylor (Red Hook, ME). The following artists are also under consideration for possible purchases of their existing works: Ken Smith, Michael Johnson, Deborah Murphy, Gary Bowling, Diane Farris, Dana Fritz, Greg Walter, Stuart Klipper, Kristin Pluhacek. Final decisions on this project are expected by March/April.

BUDGET: $117,900

UNO Criss Library South East Entrance Project
The University of Nebraska at Omaha and Nebraska Arts Council, are pleased to announce that Mel Ristau (Fort Collins, CO) has been selected for the project commission. The artworks, two aerial sculptures, have been installed and are currently on display.

BUDGET: $85,500

UNK Bruner Hall of Science Project
The University of Nebraska at Kearney and Nebraska Arts Council, are pleased to announce that Jay Tschetter (Denton, NE) has been selected for the project commission. . The artwork, a carved brick mural, has been installed and is now on display.

BUDGET: $98,000

 

 

Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Physics and Astronomy and Nebraska Arts Council are pleased to announce that Ray King (Philadelphia, PA) has been selected as the commissioned artist for the project. King will be installing his work in February 2010.

BUDGET: $253,000

College of Public Affairs and Community Service, University of Nebraska at Omaha: North Entrance Aerial Project
The University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS) and Nebraska Arts Council are pleased to announce the selection of kinetic aerial sculpture artist Tim Prentice (East Cornwall, CT) for the commission of the North Entrance Aerial Project artwork. The artwork has been installed and is on display.

BUDGET: $60,000

Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home
The ENVH and the Nebraska Arts Council are pleased to announce that Omaha artist Teri Rosario has been selected as commissioned artist for a series of six paintings honoring the various branches of armed service. The artwork is now on display.

In addition to the commission, several artworks were purchased for placement throughout the home and are now on display. Artists whose original work is on display include: Carol Abbott (Plattsmouth, NE); Armand Gibbons (Omaha, NE); Margaret Huddy (Alexandria, VA); Mary Klein (Minneapolis, MN); Jean Lewis (Lincoln, NE); Mary Mancuso (Omaha, NE); Sun Bauer, (Olathe, KS); Todd Channer (Cincinnatti, OH); Dino Paravano (Tucson, AZ); Eleazar Saenz (Monterrey, N.L., Mexico); E.P. Slick (Tucson, AZ); Ron Nordyke (Chappell, NE); Obsessed Photographers Group (Valley City, ND); Peter Yesis (Omaha, NE); Ron Raymer (Raytown, MO).

BUDGET: $50,321

Wayne State College Rice Auditorium Project
Wayne State College and the Nebraska Arts Council are pleased to announce that the artist team of Amy Baur and Brian Boldon (Minneapolis, MN) have been selected for the project commission. The artist team has completed their installation and the work is now on display.

BUDGET: $35,000

UNO Criss Library Arthur Paul Afghanistan Collection Rug Project
The UNO Criss Library Art Selection Committee and Nebraska Arts Council are pleased to announce that the rugs for this project were purchased from Nebraska Furniture Mart and the Oriental Rug Palace and are now on display in the library.

BUDGET: $12,500

College of Public Affairs and Community Service, University of Nebraska at Omaha: Multi-Departmental Storefronts Project
The University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS) has selected glass artist Kathy Bradford (Lyons, CO)as the commissioned artist for the project. The artwork has been installed and is on display throughout the building.

BUDGET: $90,000

Peru State College
Peru State College and the Nebraska Arts Council are pleased to announce that Jan Rosetta (Loveland, CO) and Bruce Howdle (Mineral Point, WI) have completed their commissions. Mr. Howdle's mural is now on display and Ms. Rosetta's work, a bronze bobcat, is in the final stages of preparation for display.
