Recently nominated for the Omaha Entertainment Award: Best Slam Poet, Sara Lihz received her BA from Creighton University and her MFA in Creative Writing from California College of the Arts in San Francisco. She has read/performed her poems across the country alongside poetic greats like Diana DiPrima and Paul Hoover, while also receiving acclaim for her work as a performance coach and director. She teaches writing at Metropolitan Community College and teaches performance at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Millard North High School. Her work has been published in a wide variety of literary journals as well as in two National Poetry Slam Anthologies featuring best works, and Slama Lama Ding Dong, winner of a 2007 Nebraska Book Award. Sara Lihz offers workshops in writing and performance to learners of all ages.
