The handcrafted Bluegrass music of Turtle Creek has been shared generously across the Midwest now for a quarter-century. This band of longtime friends and skilled musicians consists of a tightly knit blend of vocal harmonies, the five-string banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and upright bass. Turtle Creek's performance consists of two 45-minute sets providing great old ballads, heartbreak songs and lively tunes drawn from the traditional bluegrass repertoire of such greats as Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, and Jimmy Martin; old time fiddle tunes and Bluegrass barn-burners; along with original material by the band members written in traditional styles. The show also includes brief histories of the music being played, entertaining storytelling, and down home humor. Band members are also willing to work with the sponsors to provide workshops at no additional cost. This is Bluegrass and traditional country music at its best!
