Governor's Residence Exhibition Program
Each year, the Nebraska Governor’s Residence Exhibition Program provides exhibitions of Nebraska art on the walls of the main conference room of the Governor’s Residence.
The NAC partners with the Nebraska Governor's Residence to secure this prestigious venue for the display of artwork made by Nebraska artists. This unique space allows civic leaders, citizens, school children, and other visitors to the Residence the opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the diversity of statewide artistic talent.
*NEW* Nebraska Governor's Residence Exhibition Program Artist Registry
Submission Deadline: 10/17/2014
The Nebraska Arts Council’s Governor’s Residence Exhibition Program underwent some significant changes this year. The program will now select artists from an artist registry rather than from the annual call for artists previously used. The registry will remain in place for two years, alleviating the need for artists to reapply to the program each year. In addition, exhibitions will now be two months in duration. Eligible artworks must be two-dimensional and suitable for hanging as a wall display. Artists selected for Governor's Residence shows in 2015/16 will be announced in November. Inclusion on the registry does not guarantee selection for exhibition.
The Nebraska Arts Council invites all Nebraska artists and small artist groups from Nebraska to submit qualifications for inclusion on the Nebraska Governor's Residence Exhibition Registry. Submission is free of charge. Submitting for the registry is simple: follow the link below, complete the online form, and upload your media. To be considered for a 2015/16 show, submissions must be received by October 17, 2014. Learn more about the program on our website and apply for the registry in the Submission Portal at this link:

More Governor's Residence Exhibition Program Changes in 2014
Two Month Shows: Beginning with this exhibition period, shows will extend from one month to two months in duration. This gives exhibiting artists a welcome opportunity for increased exposure, and eases the scheduling pressures for installation and removal of the shows.
Small Group Shows: The program will now consider small group exhibits, provided they meet some basic criteria. The exhibit space accommodates approximately 12 small- to-mid-sized artworks, which places a premium on curating significant artworks. Installation and removal must be done by no more than a team of two persons. Art guilds, professional trade chapters, artist teams and other professional groups are encouraged to apply. Please contact J.D. Hutton at firstname.lastname@example.org | 402.595.2142 to discuss your small group show concepts and to learn more about this opportunity.
