Sheldon Museum of Art

The Sheldon Museum of Art's Statewide Exhibition Program is a new Museum education initiative using Nebraska artists to deliver educational training across the in conjunction with the Sheldon Statewide traveling exhibition program.  The program delivers interactive educational tours for students, in exhibition gallery settings, and led by regional artist educators.  Exhibition discussions conclude with exercises designed to stimulate student responses to the lessons of an exhibition.  These responses become the basis for student explorations in three to four subsequent art-making workshops in the students’ classrooms, led by the same artist educator.  The final workshop includes a critique discussion of student work and how it addresses the issues learned from the exhibition.
