Teammates Mentoring Program
TeamMates youth and their adult create digital films and then screen and exhibit their work. This project builds intergenerational dialog and matches mentors and mentees in workshops that offer new and different was to engage in the mentoring experience. TeamMates reaches youth in 116 communities statewide. The project also provides many youth with opportunities to experience technology and art forms normally not available to them. This project expands learning opportunities in school and community settings by providing 20 workshops state-wide that will provide mentors and mentees access and exposure to traditional and digital art forms. Youth are identified as those who would benefit from an additional caring adult in their lives. Others are recommended by parents and/or teachers and some self-nominate into the program.
