Review Process

Once an application is submitted to the NAC, the grant review process begins.

Grants submitted at the March 1 or October 1 deadline will be reviewed by a grant review panel. All grants are evaluated according to the criteria printed on the Grant Summary Info forms that you can download from the Grant Categories page of this website.

Artist Residency Program Sponsor Grants (AiS/C)
Arts Learning Project Grants (ALG)
Arts Project Grants (APG)
Basic Support Grants (BSG)
Mini Grants
Nebraska Touring Program Sponsor Grants (NTP)
School Bus Arts Grants (SBA)

About NAC Grant Panels:
The NAC seeks diversity in panel makeup, with broad multicultural and geographic representation. Grant panelist qualifications also include:

  • Expert knowledge and/or experience in a given arts discipline or field
  • Sensitivity to the geographic, cultural, ethnic and aesthetic differences inherent to Nebraska
  • High professional standards and responsibility

Mini grants that are submitted 6-12 weeks prior to the project start date are sent to an outside reviewer for evaluation. These grants require a short turn-around time for processing, making a full panel review logistically impossible.

For more information on how the NAC processes your grant from after you submit it online to the final report, you can contact the NAC at nac.grants@nebraska.gov.
