AiS/C Artist Residency Program Sponsor Grants (AiS/C)
The Artists in Schools/Communities (AiS/C) residency program supports NAC roster artist residencies which include at least 20 contact hours with participants. During residencies, artists share their expertise in the arts, and work with teachers or staff to help achieve learning goals in the arts as well as in other academic disciplines.
New changes to the AiS/C program have been designed to make residency planning easier and more flexible. Core group participation requirements have been eased, and residency schedules are now based on contact hours with the artist, rather than pre-defined work-days. Also, two paid hours for pre-planning are added to the artist fee. Additionally, there are slight changes to how travel costs are calculated, so total costs may vary a little from residencies in past years. Details can be found in the AiS/C Grant Summary linked below.
Eligibility: Any Nebraska public or private school or nonprofit community organization is eligible to apply. College and university-based projects may be funded only when participation by the public is sought in significant numbers. Organizations may apply for a maximum of two AiS/C grants per fiscal year.
Deadlines:
- Floating Deadline: For grant requests up to $2,500, applications must be submitted at least six weeks prior to the start date of the residency
- March 1 Deadline: For residencies taking place July 1 – June 30 with grant requests over $2,500
- October 1 Deadline: For residencies taking place January 1 – June 30 with grant requests over $2,500
NOTE: The Artists in Schools/Communities program is closed for FY11. We are no longer accepting applications in this category for projects taking place on or before June 30, 2012. You may apply for projects taking place on or after July 1, 2012 at any time.
