2012 Governor's Arts Awards Nominations Now Open

The Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraskans for the Arts and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment seek nominations for the following awards to be given at the 2012 Governor's Arts Awards event to be held in the evening on April 2, 2012.

Nomination submissions are being taken directly on the Nebraska Arts Council website via an online form and document upload process. The deadline for nominations is November 15, 2011. See Nomination Form

AWARD CATEGORIES:
OUTSTANDING ARTIST: Given to an individual artist in any discipline (previously known as the Artist of the Year award)
EMERGING LEADER: An individual artist, arts administrator or patron who has made a significant impact on the arts in Nebraska in a short period of time.
EXCELLENCE IN ARTS EDUCATION: An individual, school district or community organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the enhancement of arts education
HERITAGE AWARD: An individual or group that exemplified authenticity and excellence within a cultural tradition
ORGANIZATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: An arts organization which is committed to and has achieved artistic excellence
THOMAS C. WOODS III PARTNER IN THE ARTS: An individual who, or a business, school district or community organization that has shown outstanding commitment by its continued support of the arts through time, energy, expertise and/or financial support. (This award also replaces the former Business Leadership award.)
