Artist Directory Applications Deadline is Dec. 1
Posted on 11/03/2011
The Nebraska Arts Council (NAC) is reminding artists of the December 1, 2001 deadline for applications to the NAC's Artist Directory. The Directory includes both the Artists in Schools/Communities (AiSC) program and the Nebraska Touring (NTP) Program. Artists interested in applying for the AISC program should contact Anne Alston and those interested in the NTP program should contact Mike Markey; their complete contact information is at the bottom of this story. Artists who are currently in the Artist Directory do not need to reapply.
Complete information on how to apply is available by visiting the Artists>Artist Directory page on the Nebraska Arts Council website and clicking on the link, Artists: How to apply to the Artist Directory. The NAC's Artist Directory showcases artists approved by the NAC to be eligible for the NAC's AiSC and NTP programs.
These programs require separate applications, and artists may apply for either program or both of them. When accepted into this directory, artists and ensembles are promoted by the NAC to communities around the state for potential workshop,
performance, and residency opportunities.
The AiSC program introduces people to the arts through artist residencies lasting anywhere from five to 240 days. The artist shares artistic expertise and engages students, teachers, administrators, and the community in educational arts activities.
Professional artists in all disciplines are eligible to apply.
The NTP program is designed to provide a variety of high quality touring performances and exhibits in various price ranges to all Nebraska communities throughout the year. It provide3s financial assistance to Nebraska's non-profit sponsors as well as promoting resident Nebraska artists and groups with a record of professional achievement. The NTP program is open to professional quality artists residing in Nebraska. Eligible ensembles must maintain administrative offices in the state.
If you are not an artist, but represent an organization, school or community in Nebraska, you may be eligible for grants to hire artists from the Artist Directory. Please visit the NAC website's Artists>Artist Directory page and click on the link Sponsors: How to apply for AiSC & NTP Sponsor Grants.
