Conferences, Sessions and Workshops
Each year the Nebraska Arts Council hosts a variety of workshops, presentations, listening forums and public meetings. No matter what we call them, they all have one thing in common: sharing of information with the goal of promoting best practices in arts administration and management.
Efficient and well-run arts organizations make for a strong arts infrastructure. Often, conferences and workshops are sponsored to fulfill a need that has arisen in the arts community, to introduce a new idea, develop a partnership and/or to collect research for arts advocacy.
The following are examples of conferences and workshops sponsored by the NAC:
Sponsored in partnership with the African American Empowerment Network, this program provided opportunities for arts organizations to develop their professional and administrative capacities.
Jane Hill, an independent consultant currently residing in Sacramento, CA spent approximately six weeks traveling across Nebraska working directly with arts organizations .
Twice a year the NAC conducts public workshops and webinars which provide an overview of the agency and the grant categories of the NAC.
The Arts in Crisis Tour was initiated on a national basis to provide free mentoring to arts groups large and small looking to successfully navigate through the current economic crisis.
The Grant Writing 101 workshops provide specifics on writing competitive applications for NAC funding.
