2012 Governor's Arts Awards "The Arts Drive Nebraska" - April 2, 2012

The 2012 Governor’s Arts Awards dinner and honors presentation, “The Arts Drive Nebraska”, was held on Monday, April 2 in downtown Lincoln at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The event was hosted by Governor Dave Heineman and humorist Juli Burney and was broadcast and webcast by NET. Guests, some attired in biker gear to celebrate the event theme, were treated to a musical performance by Celtic Cabaret prior to the ceremony.

The eleven honored were given awards handcrafted by photographer Larry Ferguson and ceramicist Susan Dewsnap. The special video introduction and awardee interviews were created by Delinea Design. An afternoon advocacy session, "Rally for the Arts", was held by Nebraskans for the Arts and was open to the public.
