Office on Wheels
Every summer, the staff of the Nebraska Arts Council embarks on a series of trips around the state to visit colleagues, perform grant audits and attend cultural activities. These meetings are called Office on Wheels, because the NAC literally takes to the road to see the arts in action across the state.
Office on Wheels gives the NAC staff the chance to learn exactly how NAC programs are working. Sometimes an informal chat provides much needed input. Other times, having a more formal meeting is particularly useful. Office on Wheels allows the NAC staff to see firsthand the enthusiasm and dedication of the arts community statewide. A high degree of cooperative spirit is evident which makes an arts organization successful. Especially in rural communities, dedicated volunteers make it happen.
The following communities were part of 2012 Office on Wheels:
|
Kearney North Platte Sidney Alma Republican City |
Holdredge Valentine Lincoln Grand Island |
Red Cloud Seward Hastings |
Our annual Summer Office-On-Wheels tour of Nebraska’s communities could be coming to a location near you! This year we are focusing on Strategic Planning organizations that have received, applied for, or intend to apply for Basic Support Grants in the Discipline-based category, but smaller organizations are welcome too. If you’d like the NAC team to visit your community, please contact us at nac.info@nebraska.gov or (402) 595-2122. Our trips have included visits to virtually all corners of Nebraska, so don’t delay, as we are preparing now for the tour coming this June!

Post Playhouse is Northwestern Nebraska's premiere venue for live theatre. Located on Historic Fort Robinson State Park, Post Playhouse produces several musicals running in a repertory schedule every summer by utilizing the talent of creative professionals from across the country and nearby.
