Office on Wheels
Every summer, the staff of the Nebraska Arts Council embarks on a series of trips around the state to visit colleagues, perform grant audits and attend cultural activities. These meetings are called Office on Wheels, because the NAC literally takes to the road to see the arts in action across the state.
Office on Wheels gives the NAC staff the chance to learn exactly how NAC programs are working. Sometimes an informal chat provides much needed input. Other times, having a more formal meeting is particularly useful. Office on Wheels allows the NAC staff to see firsthand the enthusiasm and dedication of the arts community statewide. A high degree of cooperative spirit is evident which makes an arts organization successful. Especially in rural communities, dedicated volunteers make it happen.
The following communities were part of 2011 Office on Wheels:
|
Bassett Dannebrog Fort Robinson Grand Island Hastings |
Holdredge Kearney Lincoln McCook |
Norfolk Scottsbluff Valentine |
NAC Office on Wheels trips have included visits to virtually all corners of Nebraska. If you would like the NAC to include your community in our next round of Office on Wheels visits, contact us at nac.info@nebraska.gov.

The Midwest Theatre enlivens downtown Gering and is a popular entertainment venue for Panhandle residents.
