Our Partners

Approximately one third of the Nebraska Arts Council’s grant offerings and operations are supported by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). It is an essential partnership to the success of the arts in Nebraska. The NEA exists to foster, preserve, and promote excellence in the arts; to bring art to all Americans; and to provide leadership in arts education. The National Endowment for the Arts is the nation’s largest annual funder of the arts - bringing great art to all fifty states and the six U.S. jurisdictions including rural areas, inner cities, and military bases through the distribution of grants and services.

The Nebraska Cultural Endowment represents a unique partnership between the State of Nebraska and the people of Nebraska. It is a special fund that enables support of arts and humanities programs for Nebraska schools and communities beyond what is now currently available through the Nebraska Arts Council and Nebraska Humanities Council. In 1998, the Nebraska Legislature set aside $5 million to stabilize and enhance the arts and humanities in Nebraska and additional funds are being added from 2008 through 2010. The income from this fund is made available to the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Humanities Council when it is matched by donations. Please visit the Nebraska Cultural Endowment website for more information on how to make a contribution that will have lasting impact for arts and culture in Nebraska.

The Mid-America Arts Alliance was created in 1972 to stimulate cultural activity in the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. M-AAA has grown into an organization that creates and manages regional, national, and international programs. Arts and cultural organizations in Nebraska benefit from this partnership through reduced fees for exhibitions and performances. In addition, Mid-America Arts Alliance has been a partner with the Nebraska Arts Council to develop special initiatives and programs, including special offerings through their exhibition and performing divisions and professional development projects. As a regional nonprofit arts organization, M-AAA is supported from a variety of sources. Please visit the Mid-America Arts Alliance website for more information on how to make a contribution that will benefit Nebraska and the entire region.
